Minecraft Reaches 12 million Sold On Xbox 360

Mojang's sandbox build-'em up Minecraft remains a favorite on the Xbox 360, surpassing 12 million units sold by this month.

"It is amazing!" Mojang's Daniel Kaplan said in response to the new milestone in sales. "I can recall when we first started talking about sales numbers , that we would be delighted to sell 1,000,000 copies. That would have put us on the same level as Battlefield 1943 and Castle Crashers, which both are great games which is why that was something to strive for. We never even dreamed of selling 12 million!"

Minecraft previously topped 10 million in sales in December last year.  love Mojang and 4J Studios, the development partner, will continue updating Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition in the coming months with fresh content. This includes the Candy Texture Pack which will be available on April 18.
